CHILDREN AND DIGITAL DUMPSITES: E-WASTE EXPOSURE AND CHILD HEALTH

Learning

Project made for the Pan American Health Organization, which needed to develop a course that would teach a comprehensive vision of the methodology for health risk assessment, with emphasis on the risk for girls and boys, and its application in contaminated sites. due to the precarious management of electronic waste.

The course is proposed for health and environmental professionals, as well as for undergraduate and graduate students in these areas, and other audiences related to or interested in the topic.

Solution

We adapted the PAHO course into a self-paced online training program, in English, Spanish and French for Latin American and Caribbean audiences.

In the virtual course on WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) for the Pan American Health Organization, we created interactive slides, such as Excel tables, so that students, children or adults, can easily identify and understand which chemical waste generates a risk for your health and your environment.
